Colourful Youth Connections

Colourful Youth Connections is a peer-to-peer mental health program funded by Ottawa Public Health and developed by the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario under Youth Connections Ottawa. Its vision is to engage 2SLGBTQIA+ youth in Ottawa to implement fun, insightful, safe, and health-promoting activities by youth for youth.

All of us at Centre33 are beyond grateful to have the trust of OPH and RNAO to deliver this program. We aim to foster positive mental health through peer support, recognizing that youth are often more receptive to messages from their peers.

It all comes down to creating safe spaces for everyone.

When we share our true selves, our stories, our dreams, and even our fears - we build trust. It’s like adding colorful paint to a blank canvas, making our safe space real and alive!

Supporting our peers means being there to listen without judgment. It’s like being a superhero, ready to lend an ear and a shoulder when they need it most. Your support can turn a tough day into a brighter one.

Every voice matters! Embrace the uniqueness of each person in your space. When we celebrate our differences, we weave a beautiful tapestry of experiences that strengthens our community.

Organize fun activities that bring everyone together! Whether it’s game nights, art projects, or team challenges, these experiences help form bonds that make our safe space even stronger.

We are a safe space where young people can socialize and engage in activities. Our programming focuses on building positive coping skills and facilitates healthy relationships.

Supports offered can include assistance with housing, education, employment, advocacy, life skills, and
other issues.
